Lugarno Anglican Church is seeking to employ an apprentice or student minister serving with youth.
Our church vision is to see Christ honoured as Lord and Saviour in every community. For our youth group we would love to see youth in every year from 7 to 12 represented by 2020. We would love to see the youth being discipled as followers of Jesus and some developed as leaders. We would love to see the youth group a place where Jesus is faithfully shared, all people are welcomed and loved and the group grows.
You will support Lugarno Anglican Church by:
Leading the youth to achieve the vision. This is intentionally vague as we’d love to give you freedom to shape the ministry under God. Currently youth runs fortnightly on Fridays from 5:30 to 7:30. We are looking to increase the meetings to weekly,
attending Sunday morning services weekly and serving as appropriate;
meeting with the rector for regular training.
The role is intended to be a part of the MTS hybrid scheme involving 2.5 days of ministry at Lugarno Anglican and 2.5 days of study at youthworks college. The position is also suitable for a full time theological student. The position is paid.
Leadership will involve praying for, teaching and spending time with youth. It may mean recruiting more leaders. The person would be a part of the church, worshipping at Lugarno on Sunday mornings and taking part in the life of the church.
You will need to demonstrate:
Godly character (See 1 Timothy 3).
Gospel Convictions. The candidate must know and believe the gospel and desire to share it with others.
Ministry Capabilities. We are looking for someone who loves youth, has the ability or at least potential to lead a team and disciple youth. The person will have had experience leading youth at their church.
To apply please submit in writing a cover letter and resume to Gavin Rosser (firstname.lastname@example.org). Also if you have an enquiry, please also send it to this address.
Your application should address all selection criteria listed in the position description and include current qualifications, relevant experience and Christian ministry involvement. Please include two referees including your current church minister.
Lugarno Anglican Church is committed to participating in the NSW Working with Children Checks program, and successful applicants must have a valid Working with Children Check ID number before an offer of employment can be made. Persons who are ineligible need not apply.
Only candidates with the right to work in Australia may apply for this position.
